When Fearless Sourav Ganguly was haunted by a ghost!

Former captain Sourav Ganguly collected wonderful memories from the tour of England in 2002 as India managed a respectable 1-1 draw in the Tests and won the NatWest series. It was the series when the epic shirt-twirling in the air celebrations came from Ganguly.

Sourav Ganguly, who enjoyed his time in England on-field, faced a spooky situation off-field.

Team India stayed in Lumley Castle which was constructed as a manor house in the 14th century and later converted into a hotel. History has it that Sir Ralph's wife Lily Lumley was tortured and murdered in her room by two priests as she refused to follow Catholicism. The lady was thrown down in a well.
It is believed that the place is haunted by the ghost of Lady Lumley. Reportedly, people often claim that they saw someone rising from the well even though the well is covered by a glass panel.

At one night, the former skipper woke up to the sound of his bathroom tap running, but he found that taps were not running at all when he woke up. After some time during the night, the same thing happened again. Ganguly, as it is told, ignored the incident twice but when it occurred for the third time, he ran straight to fellow player Robin Singh’s room.

He didn't accept anything about being afraid of a ghost and told Singh that his heating was broken.

Apart from Ganguly, Australian player Shane Watson had also experienced something similar in the same hotel.  Click Here to know more.
