Champions Trophy final continues to haunt India; Serious allegation of match fixing levelled on big names

The final of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 turned out to be a nightmare for team India and its fans as the men-in-blue were thrashed by arch-rival Pakistan's brilliant performance. It seems like that the nightmare is not over yet as the shadow of failure in that match is still haunting team India.

The Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale has now alleged that the grand finale was fixed. If he is to be believed, India captain Virat Kohli along with middle-order batsman Yuvraj Singh and the team fixed the final match.

Questioning the credibility of team India, the minister asked how was it possible that the team India played extremely well in the entire tournament but failed in coming out of the boiling water only in the final.

The minister openly alleged that players like Virat Kohli, Yuvraj were playing like they wanted to lose the match and also went to the extent of demanding an inquiry into the matter.

"Anil Kumble was the coach there. Kohli, who has scored so many runs in the past, what happened to him that day? That's the reason why I have a doubt that was it a case of match-fixing," noted news channel quoted Athawale as saying.

"Our players kneeled in front of a rival like Pakistan. The same Pakistan that has kneeled in front of us many times, to kneel in front of them in such a way is major act of disrespect to your nation," he added.
