When Sachin Tendulkar played for Pakistan!

Celebrated cricketer Sachin Tendulkar made his debut for India against Pakistan in 1989 and went on to have a decorated career of more than two decades.

Ardent fans of master blaster are aware of most of the aspects of Sachin's life but even then not many people know that Indian cricket great actually played his first international match for a Pakistani team that too against India.

In 1987, Pakistan toured India and Tendulkar got a chance as a substitute fielder in a team led by Imran Khan during a festival match at Brabourne stadium in Mumbai.

Javed Miandad along with Abdul Qadir left the field following which Sachin was asked to field.

Sachin talked the about the incident in his book 'Playing it My Way' and wondered if Imran remembers it.

"I don't know whether Imran Khan remembers this or has any idea that I once fielded for his Pakistan team," he wrote.

Sachin was asked to field at long-on where he dropped Kapil Dev's catch. Later, he told a friend that he would have been able to catch if he was deployed at mid-on instead of long-on.
