ICC Champions Trophy 2017 preview: England vs Bangladesh

The stage is all set for the Champions Trophy to begin and the first teams to lock horns are England and Bangladesh.

In the year 2015 also both the teams had faced each other in the early stages of the 2015 World Cup held in Australia. Lower ranked Bangladesh had stunningly knocked the English team out of the tournament.

Bangladesh is making a comeback in the Champions Trophy after more than 10 years as it last played in the event in 2006. The team will remain all charged up and will look forward to repeating the 2015 WC scenario.

England, on the other hand, has shown tremendous improvement. If England's recent records are talked about, the team has won 10 out of 12 matches that they played last.

England and Bangladesh have got proven set of skills but notably, both the teams couldn't fair that well in the last match that they played ahead of the tournament.

England suffered a humiliating collapse as they were 20 for 6 against South Africa in the last match of three-match series, while Bangladesh were 22 for 6 against India in the warm-up game.

Bangladesh managed to score 84 runs while chasing 324-7 posted by defending champions India at the Oval on Tuesday.

A victory in the Opener match holds huge significance as it set a positive tone for the winning team for the rest of the tournament.

Put aside the grand collapse that both teams witnessed in their last matches, both sides will strike with full strength to pull out a first match victory.

With the players like Joe Root, Eoin Morgan (Captain), Jos Buttler and Moeen Ali, the batting line-up of England seems invincible.

Bangladesh, on the other side, will primarily bank upon its sharp bowling attack to push England to the back-foot.
