Ahead of
the match between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders on Wednesday,
huge protests were seen by various groups because of the Cauvery water dispute.
The protestors were demanding that the matches should be shifted to another
city.
In an
untoward incident, a shoe was at hurled at CSK player Ravindra Jadeja during
the match by a protester.
Following
the developments, Chennai’s team was asked to consider changing its home-ground
as BCCI had shortlisted four cities to conduct CSK's home matches.
In the
latest development, the home matches of CSK have been shifted to Pune because
of security concern.
Earlier, four
cities - Visakhapatnam, Thiruvananthapuram, Pune and Rajkot – were being
considered and the authorities finally gave a green signal to Pune.
CSK was asked
to evaluate the current situation to take a final call in this regard. The
final decision was be taken by CSK only.
CSK has
made a comeback to the cash-rich IPL after serving two-year suspension on
charges of spot-fixing in 2013.
