Widely admired and respected cricketer
AB de Villiers was once witnessed cheating in an ODI match against
India.
It may be extremely difficult to
believe this, but it can't be denied that it happened.
The South African player was
wonderfully caught in the slip area by Sachin Tendulkar. It was
Indian pacer Zaheer Khan who bowled the ball and AB had clearly
nicked the ball.
Aleem Dar, the match umpire, somehow
was not convinced and declared that AB was not-out. The Indian team
including Sourav Ganguly expressed disappointment, but couldn't force
Dar to reverse the decision.
It was clearly shown in the replay that
the ball had touched the bat, but in shocking turn of events, De
Villiers remained fixed at the crease at a time when he should have
walked out.
